I Felt the Intensity: My Take on 10 Villains’ Insane Death Scenes

Will Butterworth first started reporting on entertainment news when he was a kid in Barney pajamas giving news reports to his parents while sitting in a cardboard box. Now, he still sits in a cardboard box, but his audience has grown in number (at least that's what his mom tells him). Entertainment junkies unite!

There are death scenes and then there are epic death scenes. These 10 villains faced death in epic, unforgettable, and even outrageous ways. Is your favorite death scene on the list?

Cyrus ‘The Virus’ Grissom

In Con Air (1997), Cyrus ‘The Virus’ Grissom faces a ridiculous and over-the-top death. He ends up handcuffed to a fire truck ladder only to then slam into a glass overhead walkway. If that wasn’t enough, he then ends up dragged across a random rock pile and then dropped onto a conveyor belt where he ends up dumped into a rock crusher. Quite the turn of events.

Tony Montana

If someone is hyped on cocaine or other drugs, then they may not feel a thing. Such is the case with Tony Montana in Scarface (1983), a famous mafia film. During a shootout, he ends up being shot practically 9,000 times before he falls dramatically into a pool of blood. A bit overkill with the bullets.

Alec Trevelyan

If Sean Bean is in the movie, then there’s a good chance that he’s going to die. In GoldenEye (1995), his character ends up falling from a radio tower. Miraculously, he survives . . . only for the tower to fall on him and kill him. Bad luck.

Vincent Ludwig

The Naked gun

A comedy like The Naked Gun: From the Files of Police Squad! (1988) is bound to have hilarious gags. One of those is the death of Vincent Ludwig. After getting hit with a dart, Ludwig ends up falling from the stadium and onto the street. A bus then hits him and sends him flying to the ground.

A steamroller then runs him over, and if that wasn’t enough, the entire USC marching band tramples him to death.

Dr. Facilier

Disney villains always tend to get what’s coming for them, but in The Princess and the Frog (2009), it’s a bit overkill. Dr. Facilier ends up going to hell, which is bad enough, but as he’s falling, there are a bunch of spirits basically singing about his demise. It’s a tough way to go.

Toht

Raiders of the Lost Ark

Nazi villains tend to deserve the worst fates possible, and Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981) does not disappoint. When Toht finally gets what he’s been after the whole time, he discovers his folly. As the Arc of the Covenant opens, he ends up having his face melted in a truly grotesque style.

The Wicked Witch of the East

Although she’s only mentioned in The Wizard of Oz (1939), it’s worth talking about the ridiculous death of the Wicked Witch of the East. She was minding her own business before a house randomly fell on her, and then her murderer stole her ruby shoes.

The Evil Queen

Another Disney villain’s death worth mentioning is The Evil Queen from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1937). When her plans fall to ruin, she attempts to escape, but she ends up being struck by lightning and falls down a cliff. But that didn’t kill her. A boulder rolling down the cliff and smushing her is what does the trick. How the mighty fall.

Cutler Beckett

Pirates of the Caribbean At Worlds End

Some of the best, and most intense, death scenes accompany epic music. Such is the case of Lord Beckett in Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End. After realizing his plans have failed, Lord Beckett descends the steps of his ship in slow-motion with incredible Hans Zimmer music playing. The ship explodes around him creating one heck of an amazing death sequence.

Vic Deakins

Broken Arrow

If the film involves nuclear warheads, then you can expect a pretty ridiculous death. Broken Arrow (1996) does not disappoint. Vic Deakins, played by John Travolta, ends up impaled on a nuclear warhead. Then he’s flung into a pile of oil drums which promptly explode.
