Often considered to be the father of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, having directed and acted in Iron Man and Iron Man 2, as well as producing every film the ‘billionaire playboy philanthropist’ has featured in, Jon Favreau has finally seen his cinematic contributions recognized with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

You can watch the full ceremony below:

The ceremony included a flattering introduction from Lupita Sanchez Cornejo from the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, speeches from Favreau’s friends Roy Choi, professional chef and co-star of The Chef Show with Favreau, and Robert Downey Jr. the one and only Iron Man. In true RDJ fashion, the actor pranks Favreau and sticks gum on his newly minted Star.

Favreau now joins the likes of Chris Hemsworth, Robert Downey Jnr. and Stan Lee as Marvel actors and creators with their names on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Favreau made his cinematic debut in 1992, with a bit-part as a cab driver in Ted Kotcheff’s Folks! He made his directorial debut in 1998 with the TV movie Bad Cop, Bad Cop starring a young John C. McGinley (Scrubs). His big directorial break came in the form of Will Ferrell as a human-sized member of Santa’s workforce in 2003’s Elf, one of the most famous and beloved Christmas movies of all-time. Since Elf, Favreau has gone on to direct huge blockbusters like the two Iron Man films, Cowboys & Aliens, The Jungle Book, several episodes of The Mandalorian, and even an episode of The Office. Favreau also directed the 2014 passion project Chef starring Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow & Jojo Rabbit), which spawned The Chef Show, a Netflix Original featuring Favreau and celebrity friends tackling iconic cuisine from around the world.

Favreau has played characters, ranging from minor cameos to leading roles, in his own productions, and other major Hollywood films like Martin Scorsese’s The Wolf of Wall Street and Disney’s Solo: A Star Wars Story. His most iconic on-screen role is as Happy Hogan, Iron Man’s friend and bodyguard in the Iron Man trilogy, and subsequent MCU films like Spiderman: No Way Home and Avengers: Endgame.
